Jo Ann Newell
Medical Administrator
Jo Ann has been a medical receptionist for more than 35 years. She is also the manager of the Kawartha Lakes After Hours Clinic. Jo Ann holds a certificate in medical administration from Durham College and has a sterling reputation for being patient-centred, supportive and flexible while retaining her outgoing and upbeat demeanour. Jo Ann and her family live here locally.
Programs Coordinator

Debbie McLeod
B.Sc.N, ENCc, RN
Debbie has been our Family Health Programs Co-ordinator for the past 10 years and holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Ryerson University.
She has held several different nursing roles throughout her 30 + year career mainly in Critical Care Emergency Nursing as well as Administrative Co-ordinator of the Nursing Division at Ross Memorial Hospital.
Debbie’s special interest is health promotion and disease prevention.
She and her family reside in Lindsay.
Pharmacist

Clare Millington
RPh, PharmD
Clare grew up in Lindsay and joined the Family Health Team in 2022. She has Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the University of Waterloo. Clare has experience working in community and hospital pharmacy settings. As one of the pharmacists at the FHT, she works closely with patients, physicians, and the interprofessional team to provide consultations and education about medications. Clare is dedicated to ensuring that individuals are receiving the most appropriate therapies for their health conditions, and to identifying, preventing, and resolving drug-related problems.
Foot Care

Tamara Schneider
RPN
Tamara is new to the Family Health Team in 2022. As a resident of the City of Kawartha Lakes she comes to us as an RPN, with certification as a basic and advanced diabetic foot care specialist. Tamara brings to our team a variety of experience in the areas of community nursing, as well as surgical and stroke rehabilitation. Tamara’s ideology is that life is hard enough and with a health care system that is struggling she can make a difference……..ONE FOOT AT A TIME.
Registered Dietitian

Grace Ayad
BScFN
Grace is a Registered Dietitian passionate about food literacy and helping others enjoy a balanced approach to nutrition. She completed her Diploma in 2023 in Dietetic Education & Practical Training with a pediatric specialization and holds an Honours degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, plus a diploma in Culinary Management – Nutrition from George Brown College.
Grace specializes in diabetes management and promoting food enjoyment in moderation. She believes in making nutrition education accessible and enjoyable, empowering individuals toward healthier lifestyles.
Clinical Social Worker

Lisa Glover Carmichael
MSW, RSW
Having worked locally in the field of education for many years, Lisa comes to our team having conducted mental health assessment, treatment and service provision to adults and youth in community and hospital outpatient mental health settings in Haliburton, Minden, Cobourg and Lindsay. She has worked with children, youth and families, and with women of domestic violence. Lisa enjoys hiking and camping with her friends and family, and takes every opportunity to reset in nature.
Clinical Social Worker

Bernadette Jolicoeur
M.Ed., MSW, RSW
Bernadette joined the City of Kawartha Lakes Family Health Team in 2022 as a registered social worker with over 25 years of clinical experience working with children, youth, adults, and families.
She holds an Honours B.A. from York University, an M.Ed. from OISE, and an M.S.W. from University of Toronto, plus psychotherapy training at Toronto Institute of Human Relations. Bernadette is trained in DBT, Unified Protocol, Emotion Focused Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, EMDR and mindfulness-based approaches.
Colleagues describe her as hard-working, dedicated, passionate, courageous, friendly, and easy-to-talk-to. She enjoys cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.
Clinical Social Worker

Lee-Ann Eastman
MSW, RSW
Lee-Ann Eastman is a Registered Social Worker with a Master's Degree in Social Work from Lakehead University. She joined the City of Kawartha Lakes Family Health Team in November 2022, bringing 14 years of mental health experience in community and hospital settings.
Lee-Ann has extensive experience supporting people with trauma and specializes in grief, loss, depression, suicidal thoughts, anxiety, and mood disorders. She is trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness.
Lee-Ann adapts her approach to each person's unique needs. She enjoys yoga and spending time with family and friends.

Susan Hudson
MSW, RSW
Susan joined the City of Kawartha Lakes Family Health Team in December 2022 as a registered social worker, bringing over 25 years of interdisciplinary social work experience.
She holds a Social Work Honours Diploma from Humber College, an Honours B.A. from Guelph University, and a Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University. Susan is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Gottman Theory, Mindfulness, and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Susan values social justice and inclusivity and works with clients through a trauma-informed lens. In her personal time, she enjoys spending time outdoors to recharge.

Taylor Pypker
BSW, MSW, RSW
Taylor is a Registered Social Worker practicing at the Family Health Team, bringing a strong academic foundation and diverse clinical experience.
She holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Social Work (Honours, With Distinction) from Wilfrid Laurier University, where she was a Dean's Honour Roll recipient. Her placement experience spans hospital, community, and child welfare settings — including Lakeridge Health Hospital, SOAR Community Services, and Hamilton Child and Family Supports — providing her with a well-rounded foundation across a broad range of client populations and practice environments.
Taylor is committed to trauma-informed, client-centred, and strengths-based care, and is passionate about supporting the patients of the City of Kawartha Lakes and the surrounding community.

Elizabeth Junkin-Fagan
RN
Elizabeth has been practicing family nursing since 2011 in collaboration with doctors in Lindsay. Providing primary care to all ages, she has a special interest in elderly care.
A registered nurse since 2004, Elizabeth brings to our team a variety of experience including in the areas of community nursing and long term care. Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her family and 3 children.

Carole Follett
RN
Carole has joined the FHT with 30 year’s experience as a Registered Nurse, 15 years in acute care at PRHC and more recently 15 years at RMH in the Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation program as a Certified Cardiovascular Nurse. While at RMH she also developed and co-ordinated a Heart Failure Out -patient Clinic with the assistance of physician specialists. Her passion remains in cardiovascular health promotion and prevention.

Courtney Sitler
RN
Courtney joined us in 2024 on a temporary contract that became permanent, offering nursing support to patients and providers at our Woodville and Omemee sites.
As a Registered Practical Nurse since 2018, Courtney brings diverse experience as a PSW, resource nurse across acute and post-acute departments at Lakeridge Health, telemedicine triage nurse, and hemodialysis nurse. Her work with geriatric populations and chronic disease patients has deepened her commitment to health advocacy and social support.
Passionate about reducing metabolic disease, Courtney is pursuing further studies in Diabetes Education and holistic nutrition. She is currently completing practicum hours to write the Certified Diabetes Educator examination.

Cherisse Young
RN
Cherisse graduated from Trent University with her BScN in 2008. From there Cherisse worked at the Ross Memorial Hospital in the Emergency Department from 2008 to 2017. During this time, studying to complete her Masters in Nursing and Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, which she graduated in 2018. Cherisse has causally worked as a Nurse Practitioner since graduating and is also a Professor of the Nursing Program at Fleming College, while working with the Family Health Team as a part time Registered Nurse.
